I was so pleased with this, I bought a second straight-away for a relative.
I bought it as a bit holder not realising the significance of 'retracting' The retracting sleeve allows you to hold the drill safely right next to the surface being drilled as it rotates. The sleeve also acts as a screw holder which also allows you to hold the drill safely right next to the screw being driven - making the job safer and more accurate.
