Good unit, some disappointment
Nice unit, clear reception. I have used the earlier model for some years and got this newer model mainly because it boasts a software app for a mobile device. The software app is not readily intuitive and is not tightly integrated with the unit’s screen. Changes happen on the unit that are not graphically identical to the software gui. Despite my being very familiar with the earlier model, the setting up process is much more complex and again - not intuitive. The product offers a lot but doesn not deliver.
The analogue audio output was dead on one channel. The overall sensitivity was low. The interface to set up 'favourites' is clunky. I bought it specifically for DAB+radio and optical output and this works satisfactorily. The secondary function was to receive Australia's intenet radio station 'ABC Classic' and this fails to connect, whereas '2MBSFM Fine Music' - a similar style service - did connect! I suspect the Wintal does not handle the different Codecs used.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
