This movie got a bad rap from critics, but made money because it is entertaining and unique
I always liked this movie as a kid, and was happy to see it held up as an adult. Some of the best scenery ever filmed, as well as Bo Dereck's scenery of the anatomical variety. The animals play a big role in the film, but some of the slow motion sequences needed to be shortened. This is one of my ten most underrated films, (all of which did great at the box office but got brutalized by critics, though even Roger Ebert half heartedly defended it, which I was surprised by,

Fun movie but not too much about Tarzan
Good movie, but concentrates on the "Jane" far more than the Tarzan. I think he swings through the trees one time only. On the other hand, Demi Moore is easy to look at... Richard Harris does not live up to his own standards.

Interesting take on Tarzan
This movie is more about Bo Derek than Tarzan. if you want to see Bo Derek "a natural" this is the movie for you. It is interesting to have a Tarzan movie where the character does not speak English, but communicates with "Jane" in ways that everyone can understand.
