It´s quite surprising that this 1965 Louis Malle film still holds up fifty years later in spite of a totally unbelievable script and what might sound like a total miscasting of actors. After all, sexy Brigitte Bardot the daughter of an Irish terrorist? Pretty boy George Hamilton a Mexican revolutionary? However it all works fine and you will find yourself having a great time watching this zany comedy and loving all the characters. Bardot and Moreau are delicious as the two Marias performing on a traveling circus through Latin America. Forced by circumstances they become leaders of a war against corrupt government and church leaders. The fun never stops in this delightful film that you´ll watch time and again. The Blue-ray has great video and audio but the film itself was not restored.
