This film portrays the journey of a man descending into the depths of dementia. Anthony Hopkins is superb as the Father, and Olivia Colman is wonderful as the caring daughter, riven by guilt at having to take a difficult decision to put her father into care. The film expertly depicts events through the eyes of the father, making the watcher feel as though they are going on this journey of half-truth, and half-imagination with him. I recommend it.

If you and your family have a loved one who, like mine has, is suffering with Vascular Dementia then you may well find you can relate to this film. So trust me when I say, have the tissues at the ready. I realise that Alzheimers and Vascular Dementia are NOT the same disease, but they are similar, hence you'll be able to relate to it.

Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Coleman at their best. Intriguing twists and turns in plot. Beat to watch it a second time to spot the clues you missed the first time.

Incredible acting from the whole cast. But Tony Hopkins is mesmerizing. This so easily could have felt like a filmed play.
