    Entertainment for all ages

    My grandsons are aged 8 and 12 and like many of their generation they love electronic games, construction toys and puzzles so we bought Christmas presents accordingly and the Adventures of Tin Tin box set was an afterthought but it turned out to be the star gift - hours of entertainment for them and some peace and quiet for the adults (when they weren’t watching as well!)

    Picture books versus moving pictures

    I thought I would enjoy Tintin's adventures as moving picture stories with voices and music, and I was wrong. The magic of looking at each individual picture cell, seeing what was happening next to the characters in the story, and wondering about how the man or men made the picture, their choices of colours and views, is far more exciting to me, The picture book is the thing.
