STAR WARS - A NEW HOPE finds Princess Leia abducted by the Imperial Forces and rescued by Luke Skywalker and Captain Han Solo. THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK tells the story of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Captain Han Solo facing an attack by the evil Imperial Forces. Luke escapes to search for Yoda. RETURN OF THE JEDI finds Luke Skywalker on a rescue mission to save Princess Leia and Captain Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt while Luke completes his training with Yoda. Bonus features include a documentary detailing the Star Wars films called EMPIRE OF DREAMS which traces the evolution of the trilogy from low budget films into a movie phenomenon which elevated science fiction from lowly B-rated material into the big league. The original trilogy of Star Wars reminds of those Saturday mornings at the cinema to see the Lone Ranger and that sort of entertainment. Good family viewing with spectacular battle scenes that were revolutionary at the time of release. Also a bit of a love story to engage the audience. The Force is strong with this one.....
.... so strong in fact, I changed back from the original trilogy on Blu-ray to this DVD boxed set! Worth it for the 4th DVD alone which contains lots of behind the scenes stuff and making of featurettes, which are fascinating to see, and really show how much effort, skill and vision went into the original movies all those years ago. Go for the GOLD packaged box set which was exclusive to HMV stores in the UK. I’ve had the black and silver box set of DVD’s before I upgraded to Blu-ray, but came back to this limited edition GOLD boxed set from HMV on DVD. Great picture. THX sound. Delighted! May the Force be with you.....
