Additional InformationPart two of TO SERVE THEM ALL MY DAYS which remains one of the most beloved mini-series of all time. John Duttine stars as David Powlett-Jones, a shellshocked veteran of the World War I trenches who returns from the war and lands a job teaching at an elite public boarding school. At first lacking confidence and haunted by his wartime experiences, David eventually grows into one of the most respected and beloved teachers at the school. Based on the novel by R.F. Delderfield, this moving drama offers a rich blend of romance and history as it successfully evokes the tumultuous period of England between the wars.
For some time I have only had volumes 1 and 3 in my possession so was glad to be able to make up the set. I saw the whole series many years ago and found them quite gripping. The characters are convincing without being too overpowering perfect or imperfect. It is interesting to see how much has changed in society and how much has not.
A series I greatly enjoyed years ago. I was pleased to be able to buy the DVDs which comprise the whole series. A highly enjoyable series and a fairly true adaption from the original book
