Trail-blazing comedy
A film that was among the first of a new style of comedy. Followed by Airplane, The Naked Gun, The Blues Brothers, Animal House etc. Kentucky Fried Movie got there first. Basically a series of sketches, fake trailers, and a film-within-the-film A Fistful of Yen. Ruder than most of what followed but so exuberant and full of fun you can't take offence. I saw this many years ago at the cinema. I was pleased to find it's worn well.
