Shakatak - The 12 Inch Mixes 2 cd Set
What a brilliant double CD, All fantastic mixes of their Classics. I had the pleasure of seeing Shakatak on their invitation tour in the 80's at Warwick University. They were as good live as there studio recording's. Acid jazz and funk was a real musical journey then but one worth seeking out. There is a good amount of slapping bass too,level 42 Mark King wasn't the only one doing that. This CD is very much worth the purchase. I've bought the second volume too so it review will follow. I recall the ticket cost £6.00 with my student union card. At the time brook bond red mountain coffee was £2.00. My student music journey included: Shakatak, Shalamar, Darryl Hall & John Oates, Kool & The Gang.
