Here you have Ry Cooder at his best - for not only do you have Ry is shown great form but there's David Lindley and Jim Keltner matching him! His versions of Elvis Presley associated, Little Sister, Alexander's Go Home, Girl coupled with Look At Granny Run Run and funky Don't Mess Up A Good Thing are mighty displays of Ry Cooder's diversity. A finer grasp of the songs would be difficult to imagine.

Very famous for being the first digitally recorded album. This album is a stab at commercial success by Cooder and as a result is a bit hit and miss and is also a total departure from his Chicken Skin Music era. Highlights for me are his take on Elvis’s Little Sister and The Very Thing That Makes You Rich Will Make Me Poor. Chaka Kahn is a guest singer on this very rhythm and blues flavoured album.
