Classic album, brought up in the vinyl age not 100% sure that modern remastering always does full justice to the original product but still a 'must have' for anyone who's into rock, blues and even ambient (called psychedelic back in the day!). Take out the singles and the Voodoo Chiles, and it's late-night trance at its best! Try and get one of the earlier CD releases if you can tho (the original double CD version is more true to the 1968 vinyl release). And let your imagination think where the ever-innovative Jim might have progressed to.....

This review is for the 1993 Polydor Electric Ladyland CD - the cover with Hendrix and purple orange shading. The sound is OK - it was self-produced in 1968. Lead guitar and vocals are clear but the rest sounds like it's coming out of a toilet bowl. Copious booklet which is an interesting read. There are lots of reissues but this is good value.

An amazing CD encapsulating He drix at his best with Noel and Mitch. I had the pleasure of seeing them play live.
