Reviews"The results are startling, setting Womack's distinctive voice against stark electro backings and thunderous beats.", "The Cleveland-born singer-songwriter remains in typically pliant voice, though his rasp has grown rougher around the edges, and he still writes good songs.", 4 stars out of 5 -- "THE BRAVEST MAN impresses on a steadily rising graph as Womack's soul-soaked voice humanises the machinery in ways rarely heard these days.", 3.5 stars out of 5 -- "He's at home testifying over coolly throbbing beats, and on the anti-war title track Womack pleads for brotherly forgiveness...", "Womack Shines -- Not Just a Brave Man, but a Remarkably Resilient One." -- Grade: A-, "The set is anything but overproduced, sporting a mostly minimalistic feel....Womack's gritty, soulful sound is squarely at the heart of what we hope will turn out to be his comeback album.", 4 stars out of 5 -- "The title track pitches Womack's fantastically textured voice over a super-sparse piano, bass and clicking drums, just the hint of strings and acoustic guitar allowed to whisper over it all..."
Additional InformationBobby Womack's first album in 12 years is a startlingly modern collection of soul co-written by Blur's Damon Albarn.

  • Great voice

I am read previous reviews before purchasing. The theme that runs throughout the reviews was that, if you like Bobby‘s voice, The album is worth buying. Having bought the album, I would endorse that view . I would also endorse the view that some tracks are better than others, a bland comment I know, but it’s true - there do seem to be a few fillers on there. My only other observation is that, where a drum machines has been used, the sound is almost identical in every track, and quite high in the mix, which can make it a bit repetitive. But overall an album Worth buying if you like his voice.
