You don't have to like cricket to like this film A very entertaining story set in London in the fifties with a backdrop of the racial tension of the time, which is handled sensibly and with sensitivity, mainly featuring on a young Jewish lad who loves to play cricket but is not what you'd call good at it and the relationship he forms with his two new West Indian neighbours. A film that just makes you smile throughout. A typically good British independent film.

Enjoyable drama with some good performances, sadly let down by the young chap who's story this is mainly about. Hardly the next Billy Elliot, as at times his performance was uncomfortable.Nevertheless cricket lovers will find a lot to take away from this movie, with some fine and iconic camera shots which will have you remembering the days of yore.
I loved this movie! The storyline is powerful, dealing with racial and religious tensions. The acting is sensational, and they provide an emotional roller-coaster ride! At the end you are left in awe about the power of love, friendship and integrity. A must see, and must talk to your friends & family, movie - Go and see it!
