So so film for modern viewers but very futuristic for its time. Even featuring Donald Pleasance! Worth watching as it is by George Lucas, before Star wars

George Lucas's first film, THX 1138, is a distopian view of an alternate existence. A population kept drugged and perpetually watched by - who knows? There are some great locations used which are explained in the Extras disc, as well as interviews with George Lucas, Robert Duvall, and Maggie McOmie, amongst others. I thought it was great. Disturbing, but great. Although living in the 21st century might not be the utopia we all hope for, wherever THX and LUH exist is far worse.
Not what I expected, Not a good film seen a lot better.

Far ahead of its time at release. A visionary master piece.
