  • The perils of innocently lying to the police.

A well constructed thriller where a man trying to conceal his affair with his bosses wife while still attempting to help the police claims to have witnessed an assault that in fact his illicit lover had. As his lies unravel he then becomes the focus of the police investigation which has now become the search for a serial killer. Steve Guttenberg plays our beleaguered hero who is initially amused, happy with the attention he is receiving from the police, but as his world turns in on him and the stakes are raised his easy going demeanour transforms into utter disbelief, a change hat is wonderful to read in his facial expression as reality bites. Elizabeth McGovern plays the sassy, over confident, original assault victim and with Gutenberg developers a plan to trap the killer. Brad Greequist does an excellent turn as the psychotic serial killer, hardly uttering a word and grounding the movie with his very realistic portray of uncompromising menace. A very entertaining movie with great plot developments, humour and glamour. Never in a rush to advance the plot too quickly, it's a movie to enjoy the human predicaments presented. This movie format was wide-screen with great picture quality.
