Classic Wildhearts, when they were fast and young, and driven by excitement, adrenalin and optimism. Catch them on this album at the point where naievety was just disappearing in the trail dust and what should have been stardom beckoned them into its arms in the sunset. A good mix of hard and soft, dark and light, without selling out. They still play some of these in their live set and they sound as good as ever. If you're already a fan, you'll hear this as a protoype to PHUQ, and it's a bit more sophisticated and adventurous than the debut album "Earth Vs...". If you're not, then you will be, and furthermore you'll wonder why these guys didn't make it big the year Green Day did (almost) the same thing across the Atlantic.
This is probably my favourite 'Hearts album. The songs are consistently awesome and there is absolutely no "filler". Standouts include "Turning American", "Splattermania", and "Nothing ever Changes..."
