There is a reason the middle section of Tangerine Dream's career is called "the Melrose Years"; the best of this era in consistency - there are great pieces on Optical Race etc. but overall, for me, Melrose is the best album. Shorter, more rhythm based pieces then their earlier work, but still great melodies/arrangements. If you want more drums/ rhythm try the Dream Mix albums (1 or 2 are the best for me); if you want more gentle, melodic, try Force Majeur or Stratosfear. A good place to start with TD, without resorting to compilation albums where you will buy the same piece of music more than once if you get hooked...
A great album from 1990 wow that long ago from Tangerine Dream there music was slightly changing, but still stayed what there great Edgar Forese and crew German band at the best. Melrose superb 👌 album.
