I first bought this album on cassette when it was a new entrant into the Hit Parade, I was still young[ish], and a Conservative Government (remember them?) stalked the land. I bought a new copy for sentiment but can now recall why I loved it before; and I now love it afresh. Hearing "Saint Bob" singing about not caring a stick for anything whatsoever is still amusing, and the music of the whole album still stands up: this is definitely not a period-piece curiosity with nothing but nostalgia value left. It's a mature, relaxed album, laid-back but not dierectionless, with some really interesting ideas.
I love this album. Not enough publicity, but I'd recommend you give it a listen. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
