House 1 and 2 were good films however 3 and 4 are pretty bad. Would I buy the collection again, yes. Even though 3 and 4 were bad it had to be watched.

I've waited years to see all the 'House' films together & this boxed set more or less delivers the goods. Although I am a big fan of old-style, gothic horror films, this eighties comedy-horror gore fest is a lot of fun. Moreover one of the unusual things about this set is that they are not really direct sequels to each other; even all the 'Houses' of the titles are different and not connected. The 1st film 'HOUSE' is probably the best one with a fine blend of comedy and genuine horror. The 2nd is by far the most absurd with the comedy-horror stretched to breaking point & the high point being a cameo by John Ratzenberger as a repairman and time-travelling adventurer! The 3rd, which was originally entitled 'THE HORROR SHOW' is completely independent of the other three films & is deadly serious & very nasty tale about a psychotic serial killer(played by Brion James of Blade Runner fame)who enacts a bloody, supernatural revenge on the cop(Lance Henrikson)and his family who convicted him and sent him to the electric chair. The 4th and final film - is a half-hearted sequel to the original & although it has its moments is a rather lame affair. In addition this is a fine and rare box set that selling for up to £80 on certain internet retail sites although I got mine; used but in great condition for £6.52 on ebay so I can't complain!Read full review
Hi Ebay, I bought the house collection because i had watched house 1 and 2 as a teenager when these movies was the cutting edge of its time they were and still are very different from the norm. I tried to purchase these movies everywhere from all the national chain stores and also the movies rental and sales people but it had been discontinued but thanks to ebay i purchased this box set within days and for only £4.99 what a bargain. Thanks ebay. Marc jones.
This is what 80s horror films were all about, tongue in cheek gore with some decent scares and a good few laughs. The House series of films got me hooked on horror flicks from a young age and other than the Nightmare on Elm Street films remains the best series of it genre. It has taken me 5 years to find the films as individually they are not available and it was only by chance that I have found this box set. If you love 80s horror with a better than average script - these are for you.
fantastic eighties comedy horror not stomach churning special effects of modern horror movies had to buy for my collection if you get the chance i recommend you give it a go...
house 1 scared the life out me when i was 11 years old definately one of the scariest movies since the halloweens and the original fog total classic horror and also rare to get in the uk
