I saw this on the documentary channel and was so impressed with it. It showed a family living in Mongolia. It was very interesting to see how they live and how important their camels are to them. I was impressed with how gentle these people are and how gentle with their camels. The title of this video is so appropriate. But I will not tell you why; it will give away the most fasinating aspect of this film that is brought out in the finality I bought it so I could share it with others; it is that good. If you buy it I hope you see the same as I have in this remarkable film.
A delightfully unusual film mirroring the life of a Mongolian family and their intriguing solution to winning over a bolshie reluctant mother camel to her newly born. It is a film like no other which makes it all that more interesting.

This is very nice movie. I'm very happy to purchase this. If you like valuable movies, you must have this. You can see unknown world in middle asia with this movie.
I did not buy this film because it is a particularly good film; let's face it, it lacks pace, the plot's fairly basic and not a great deal happens. However, this is a film that leaves you a little bit quieter, calmer and richer for having seen it and there's real magic at the end. It reminds you that there's more to life than cars, 9-5 jobs, cities and rushing about, they are not the be-all-and-end-all. The scenery is breathtaking, the people are inspiring and the story of the baby camel and the family's concern for their animals keeps you watching. I bought this film because it evoked a lot of memories for me. I have been to Mongolia and stayed with the people there in their gers, walked or ridden among their herds of yaks and sheep and seen feral camels wandering about. Having seen "The Story of the Weeping Camel" at the cinema after coming back from Mongolia it evoked so many of the memories, sights and sounds that I wanted to get it on DVD just to lose myself in when Western life gets too much. "The Story of the Weeping Camel" certainly brings it all back for me, the scenery, the pace of life (or lack of!) the dust, the wind, the animals... If you have yet to go to Mongolia and want to get some idea of what life is like in this part of Mongolia is like then watch this film. If you have been to Monglia then it gives you a little opportunity to revisit. If you love animals you'll fall in love with the camels. If you want 90 mins of distraction, peace and quiet then watch this. If you like films that are different and you're interested in how people manage to live in other, harsher parts of the world then watch it. The only aspects not captured in this film are the bitter cold, the greasiness of the animals' coats and the all-pervading stench of mutton fat, but you can probably do without these things!Read full review

The DVD was recommended. It is a documentary film of a family living in Mongolia - a very gentle documentary with brilliant camera work. It is a touching, sensitive film which warms your heart. If anyone is sceptical about animal healing, please watch this wonderful film.
