Reviews"Gorgeous....There's a Cleverness to Lightburn's Stylish Panic Attacks..."-Grade: A-, 4 stars out of 5 - "This is seriously literate stuff, and all the better for it....A record that carries a narrative, both musical and lyrical, without becoming a turgid concept album.", Ranked #32 in Uncut's "Best New Albums of 2004"-"Delicious, Dark and Consistently Surprising...", 4 stars out of 5 - "A richly textured and coherent narrative, with the 12 songs cleverly juxtaposing the end of a romantic relationship with the end of the world....A drizzly doomsday masterpiece."
The Dears have sailed under the radar consistently but this is the most perfect Indie album of the 00’s. Often compared to such acts as The Smiths or even Blur. They are in fact superior to both. Stick this album on and go on a gorgeous journey of the mind and in particular marvel at the genius that is the death of all romance. Cruelly overlooked at the time, you can pick copies up for a song on CD. While you’re at it buy the equally good Gang of losers
