This remake of Thunderball was quite a treat back in 1983. The score is not of your typical Bond theme because of studios clashing between the rights of the original Thunderball and a totally different studio involved. There was a whole legal battle in the making of this film and its score. Being that Never Say Never Again came out the same year as Octopussy, it was not considered part of the Bond Franchise. It was Sean Connery's goal to have Thunderball remade, being that he didnt like how the original was completed, so this was considered a stand alone Bond adventure with a slightly different touch. It is an alternative view of the Bond character as well as the music and the theme and is considered arguably a classic to this day. Even though there was a legal battle while making the film, Sean Connery worked tooth and nail to complete it and respectfully became quite the re-imagining of the classic spy story to Thunderball, the way Connery emagined it.
