This not the Grateful Dead's best Live show. But it is one of their best performances from 1977. The mixing of this live show is punchy and warm, giving you that 70's vibe. Some Deadheads believe that this show rivals the 5/8/77 show at Cornell. I for one own both live shows on CD and dig them both. In all honesty, you can't go wrong with any 1977 show from May. The dead were performing at their very best at that particular time. That's not to say that any other months before or afterwards were not as great. Because really, they're all great shows. Soundboard mixing was top notch which really brings out the band's energy. I also dig their 1976 New Year's Eve performance at the Cow Palace. Different mixing and their own different interpretation of their great songs. In any case, if you're into the 77 live shows, this one is a must have.
You know that 77 was a special year for the dead, and a year full of "incredible officially released" shows. This one is no exception and a no brainer to add to the collection!
