  • Well-written and riveting memoir of Queen Lili'uokalani's life

Well-written first person account of the theft of the Kingdon of Hawai'i by United States business interests, written by the Queen who was overthrown by those interests. The book focuses mostly on the Queen's life prior to the overthrow of the kigdom, including the Queen's triup to England to celebrate Queen Victoria's Jubilee. The Queen was an amazing person who wrote many beloved Hawaiian songs, including Aloha 'Oe.

  • Excellent reference source

This book gives the reader of how the Hawaiian Kingdom came to end in 1893 with the overthrow of Queen Lilioukalani, the last monarch and she gave her side of the overthrow which is an injustice to the Hawaiian people when American businessmen staged the overthrow to protect their interests with the help of American troops on January 17,1893.
