Miguel and Tulio, two Spanish con artists, accidentally stow away on Cortes' ship headed for the New World. Their escape attempt leads them stranded on foreign shores with no food. They do manage to find pieces of a mysterious map, however, which leads to the fabled Lost City of Gold, El Dorado. This city, they believe, is where they will fulfill their dreams of gold and glory. So begins this side-scrolling adventure based on the 2000 animated movie from DreamWorks.<br><br>El Dorado is a single-player game in which you can play as Miguel or Tulio. At the beginning of each level, you're given the opportunity to play as either of the heroes of the story. Once you finish the level, you're given a password to resume your progress in the game. A key is hidden in one of the levels of El Dorado that allows you access to a secret level. This is called the UBI key and it can be exchanged with a friend via the infrared connection on the Game Boy Color. <br><br>Twenty levels of gold hunting, sword fighting, and mystery solving will have you collecting coins, flasks and ammunition. Of course, the main goal is to collect all the pieces of the map that will lead you to the fabled El Dorado. During your journey, flasks will replenish your strength and coins will increase your score. You must evade the local hooligans and bullies and confront boss characters like a bull, a sailor, a stone jaguar, and Cortes himself!
