One of the youngest members to ever join the New York City Ballet, Suzanne Ferrell was discovered when she was 14, and by the age of 15 had a part in the company's production of the NUTCRACKER. Soon, George Balanchine, the legendary choreographer, recognized Suzanne's remarkable innate abilities and wrote parts for her in DON QUIXOTE and MOVEMENTS FOR PIANO AND ORCHESTRA, MEDITATION, leading to a 20 year collaboration between the two artists, broken only by Suzanne's stint with Maurice Béjart's Ballet of the 20th Century in the early 1970s. This documentary examines Suzanne's remarkable life and career and focuses on her collaboration with Balanchine, one of the most fruitful relationships in dance during the 20th century.

A stunning film on the special relationship that Ms. Farrell had with the legendary choreographer George Balanchine. This film was nominated for Best Documentary, 1996 Academy Awards.
