Not a traditional cookbook.
I bought this because I love Jewish cooking. I knew it was interspersed with stories and experiences but I was hoping for more recipes. If you're looking for a more personal perspective of what it was like cooking with Bubbe growing up, then this may do the trick. There are lots of little anecdotal stories and bits of history that can take you back to a different time. A big cookbook it's not. I only gave it 3 stars because for me I wasn't looking for the stories right now, but at some point I will re-read it and enjoy comparing Elizabeth's experiences to my time cooking with my Babcie.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
