The mostly acoustic album opened the doors to an even broader fan base, making the band a household name. Featuring beautiful, melodic songs such as the hits "Casey Jones" and "Uncle John's Band," WORKINGMAN'S DEAD was voted Album of the Year by the readers of ROLLING STONE in '70.Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart remixed the surround and stereo sound for this special DVD audio release, revamping many vocals (most notably, the gospel-esque backing vocals in "New Speedway Boogie") and instruments that had been buried in previous mixes. Great disc but a bit high priced
Great album , we all know this .... the album in 5.1 surround that’s the question ! It is done so tastefully. It was done with respect to the original mix . And it sounds amazing . Buy it , just be careful of the price , it spans from $45-$100 ... too much money in my opinion.
