This album was nothing like Kim Carnes had ever done before, but it was one of her best in my opinion. I was hooked on her music after hearing 'Bette Davis Eyes' (her biggest hit), & I had to get everything I could find prior to following the 'Mistaken Identity' album. She records quite a diverse selection of styles, and pulls it off remarkably well. There could & should have been more hits from this album, like UNDERTOW & MERC MAN & THRILL OF THE GRILL. Why there wasn't, & why the title track wasn't more successful remains a mystery to me. But being a dedicated fan of hers, & her music, I wonder why she didn't have more chart success even before the 'Mistaken' album and beyond. She is no "one hit wonder" as some people think. OneWay Records did a superior job with remastering it, however, the FIRST issue has a track called 'Little Bit Of Love' that wasn't even by Kim Carnes on it! I'm still LMAO at this mistake, but I've got one of my favorite albums of all-time on several different isssued cds when one wears out. If you can find sound samples to listen to, check out this whole album -- it's a great 80's rock/new wave album. You may just end up trying to find it, since it's no longer in print. 8/24/06 -cdcollector52806Read full review
