Conan the Destroyer - Widescreen Edition
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s second Conan film, this time he teams up with Grace Jones I enjoyed this movie, action and fantasy. Not quite as good as the first film, probably because they tried to make it more acceptable for the younger views. This is the Widescreen edition (For all you guys with posh TV's) Plot Summary: Conan goes on a quest to steal a magic horn so he can revive his lost love Valeria. All is not as it seems, as he will be betrayed. As with the first film there are different editions so if you are a fan of ‘extras’, have a good look around. I could not find a boxset for both films. So the Boxset fans miss out on this one.

While i don't think the movie is horrible, it is a bad movie. Arnold only fits certain movies well. He tends to need a director who knows how to use him, just look at how good the barbarian and terminator were. However this movie did not have the same director as the barbarian and it shows. While the music and some of the scenes are reminiscent of the barbarian, the story is lacking the same depth and . . . . oddly, simplicity of the 1st conan (not to say that the 2nd was complex). It also lacks the same depth to the characters, such as the thief and DOOM from the 1st movie. While the main villain play her role well, it is not enough to make up for the movie. Also the fight scenes while okay are not awesome, and unfortunatly Arnold's extra body building goes a bit overboard in the 2nd conan compared to the 1st. While i would say the movie is worth watching, as most movies are. It is not worth buying and i am going to trade in or sell my copy as soon as i find the time.Read full review

Conan the Destroyer
I am writing this review because I have read the other reviews on here and I think everyone is being way too harsh on this film. While as a whole, Conan the Barbarian (the 1st film) is much better and has a better plot and better villain, what do you expect? It's very rare that a sequel can surpass the original. However, Conan the Destroyer was a film I watched over and over growing up and I loved it every time. I even have inside jokes with my family regarding the film. And frankly, I think it's much more fun to watch than Conan the Barbarian. Grace Jones is fantastic in it. She's reason enough to want to watch it. And Arnold reprises his role as Conan nicely. This sequel has a much lighter tone to it, but there's more than enough action for those of you that crave it. Amazon has it at a great price, so don't miss out on this great movie!!Read full review
