About this product

Product Information

Anand Tucker's FilmFour-funded film, based on Hilary and Piers Du Pré's book, tells the story of Hilary and sister Jacqueline's life and relationships. Jacqueline Du Pré was acknowledged as the world's leading cellist but with the genius came a price, from intense mental stresses to unusual sexual relationships and tragically, at the end, the onset of multiple sclerosis that was to deny her even the solace of music. The film traces her and Hilary's lives and in doing so, shows a flawed genius in a love-hate relationship with her sibling. With David Morrissey as Kiffer Finzi, Hilary's husband and James Frain as conductor Daniel Bernboim, Jackie's husband.

  • Very disappointing!

Sadly as a real admirer of Jacquline Du Pre's cello playing I found this film very poor and I am not surprised many people including genuine close family friends were also so disappointed with what should have been a real tribute to such an amazing talent who was tragically taken from the world of music with M.S.
