The forth film in the Basil Rathbone series is great fun although only loosely based on Conan Doyles "The Dancing Man". Set in 1940's war torn London and not the 1890's it still has all the greatness of a Holmes adventure. Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce are great as usual in the leads as well as Dennis Holey as Inspector Lestrade in his first appearance in the series and Lionel Atwill as Holmes greatess nemises Professor Moriarty. A true British classic properganda movie to keep up the English spirit. Which should be enjoyed by Holmes and non Holmes fans.
I bought it to complete my Sherlock Holmes collection. I had been to the cinema many moons ago to see it. Basil Rathbone in my eye's, will always be the best Sherlock Holmes.
