    This is a movie is beautifully filmed in New York. It is well acted by Gibson, as the go-getting victim, & Sinise, as a cerebral, two-faced baddie. The plot contains a clever twist on the ransom theme, and there's plenty of realistic melodrama. There is intense action, followed by space for the film to breathe and the actors to act. And yet, the film fails overall. Future action films would either go all high concept, or out-and-out action and lots of short scenes. This is a halfway house.
