Product Information

Long before James Cameron steered TITANIC to Oscar victory in 1996, there was Roy Ward Baker's A NIGHT TO REMEBER--which follows the events of a night in April 1912 when the ship sunk on its maiden voyageùan epic disaster movie grounded by heart-felt performances and endearing drama.

ReviewsUSA Today - "...A movie to see again and again..." -- 4 out of 4 stars
Additional InformationDirected by Hammer horror director Baker, this is another version of the tale of the doomed maiden voyage of the Titanic, told in a semi-documentary style through the eyes of the ship's second officer, Herbert Lightoller, whose duties provided him with a unique perspective of the everyday goings-on aboard the huge ocean liner. An excellent cast (selected for their resemblances to photos of the real passengers) conveys the courage, greed, fear, hope and despair of the real-life passengers. Based on the novel by Walter Lord.

  • Tragic true life tale.

This is a truly outstanding piece of filmmaking. Acting is solid, music, editing and cinematography is top-notch and the direction is brilliant. Forget the James Cameron 'so called epic', this is the proper one to watch. I defy anyone not to have a lump in their throat when the great Lady finally succumbs to the sea. 10/10
