Comic drama starring Robert De Niro as a shy cop who, having inadvertently saved the life of a mobster, is 'loaned' the mobster's girlfriend for a week. De Niro plays Wayne 'Mad Dog' Dobie, a spineless member of the Chicago Police Force who becomes a hero when he accidentally foils the robbery of a grocer's shop.
