Picture good but sound quality very poor (low and high sounds in waves intermittently).

Very funny, would highly recommend to watch. can relate to family life. We all have someone in our family that's like one of the characters. just alround great family entertainment for great family night in front of the tv.
A programme based around a family who do nothing but sit in front of the telly drinking tea and eating wagon wheels. Riveting stuff even if all they are doing is munching on Kit-Kats. A must see, am delighted to have got the whole 3 series on dvd, and they take pride of place in the middle of the cabinet.
Sit down, put your feet up, light a fag and join Britain's first family in their sitting room, for the complete third series of The Royle Family. The Royle Family is a real-life comedy set in a Manchester council house. Imagine a secret camera placed in the living room of an average working class family. The intense drama and emotions of everyday life, such as whose turn it is to go to the off-licence, is set against the continuous hum of the television. The rosy hue of their life is yellowed only by a nicotine haze. Episode 1: Jim has been given a haircut by Barbara. Denise and Dave turn up with baby Dave. Denise starts breast feeding the baby - much to Jim's horror, especially when Anthony and Darren turn up. Darren can't keep his eyes off Denise's breasts. The boys go into the kitchen to eat their tea and end up doing some Ali G impressions. Dave changes the baby nappy, Barbara admires him for this. Denise and Dave prepare to go home and watch the football match, and almost forget to take the baby with them. Episode 2: It's Saturday morning and baby David has spent the night with Grandparents Barbara and Jim Royle, while Dave and Denise have been out for the night for their anniversary. Denise and Dave turn up with hangovers. Mary and Joe return from casualty in a taxi and Barbara invites them in to see what has happened to Joe's fingers which are bandaged up. Once they leave, Antony is sent upstairs to see baby David who has been crying. While he's up there the rest of the family sneak out for a hair of the dog at The Feathers. Episode 3: Jim and Twiggy are stripping the wallpaper in the front room in preparation for baby David's christening. Barbara returns from doing the shopping. Dave arrives with the baby and ends up helping with the stripping too, while Densie has popped next door to look at Cheryl's new scales. Denise and Cheryl return and sit in the kitchen with Barbara. Barbara makes everyone bacon sandwiches. Anthony and Darren arrive and annoy Denise, they all go to the front room and sing Tina Turner songs to make fun of the girl Darren's seeing. Episode 4: Nana and Barbara have just returned from Elsie's funeral. Nan is very upset, Jim has no sympathy for her. Cheryl and Denise return from shopping in the precinct. Antony returns from Emma's house. Barbara doesn't want to make the tea so they send Antony to the chippy instead. Episode 5: Antony is peeling potatoes to make some chips and he tells the family about his business trip to London to try and land a record deal. Antony juggles with the potatoes which prompts Dave to show everybody his finger trick. Nana and Jim fight over going to the loo. Episode 6: It's baby David's christening party. The Royle Family return from the pub doing the conga through the back kitchen door. They are joined by the Caroll's from next door, Twiggy and his girlfriend Michelle, Darren, Emma and PJ Gaunt. They all have a good time culminating in a sing song to New York, New York, the end of which is interrupted by Barbara. Antony has an announcement to make.Read full review
