Jonnie "Goodboy" Tyler (Barry Pepper) is an ambitious young man who decides to explore the region beyond his home, to learn more about the monsters who have taken over his world. Terl (John Travolta), head of Psychlo Security, is ready to leave the backwater planet, but when he is denied a promotion he schemes to make himself wealthy and powerful. Terl comes across Jonnie and decides the human's above-average intelligence is just what he needs, educating him and letting him loose to mine gold in an isolated region. Jonnie must take this opportunity to try to destroy the Psychlos and free humanity from oppression, with only the help of the other disorganized tribes still existing on planet Earth, and with Terl watching his every move. BATTLEFIELD EARTH is an action-packed sci-fi movie based on the best-seller by L. Ron Hubbard, which Travolta (who both starred in the movie and produced it) had wanted to make into a movie for more than 15 years.

This is an excellent syfy film for any syfy fan it's got everything a great story action and adventure great CGI and some good one liners from Travolta, & lots of other great actors like Kim Coates, Forrest Whitaker well I'm not going to name them all but keep your eyes open to see how many other famous actors you can spot. The leader of the resistance and the lead pilot in the harriers, just buy the film and enjoy its well worth it and it's a cheap DVD to buy this truly is an entertaining film one that you'll never get tired of watching. Battlefield Earth as entertainment rather than being political
Underestimated film starring John Travolta and Forest Whitaker 'Battlefield Earth', possibly written in mind of the Sumerian and the Anunnaki alien, whereby humans slaved for gold. The transition from uneducated humans to humans that learn to fly Hi-tech aircraft is a stretch for the imagination, however the timescale for this is not clear. John Travolta and Forest Whitaker provide an entertaining and some humorous engagements and it is unfortunate the media and various entertainment peer groups and publications decided to be political and bias concerning Travolta personal religious following. A really good bit of Si-Fi kitch !
Belated when it came out in the cinema....Most people either LOVE it or LOTH it. However, I think it is a truly underrated bit of Si-Fi jonra....and John Travolta kitch! I'm so glad I spotted it in the listing to add to my personal collection.
