Reviews3.5 Stars - Good Plus - "...the Bad Seeds put forth their best playing yet...At times Cave veers into melodrama, but his songs of suffering and sin are still convincing...HENRY'S DREAM stands as provocative--albeit harrowing--music...", 3 Stars - Good - "...has a rockier edge than his last outing...much here is driven along by giddy piano or acoustic guitar as Cave relates tales of degradation and woe...", 4 stars out of 5 -- "It remains a powerful mix of feral debauchery and surreal, inexplicable beauty...", "...A Lush, Melodic Sonic Playground...Quite Beautiful...", 4 Stars Out of 5-"...This Is the Seeds Being Bad and Loving Every Minute...", "This Era Is Well-Stocked with Timeless, Majestic and Icy Tales like 'jack the Ripper'...", "Henry's Dream Marks His Sneaky Descent Into a Wittier, more Accessible Kind of Cabaret-Blues.", Rating: B+, Included in Q's List of the 50 Best Albums of 1992.
I am not liking this album much. It seems to be weak in song, mood and edge. It’s ok. I was just curious. Straight to You is a glorious pop song however so I play that a lot. But the rest didn’t click. And it’s Neil Young’s producer too. Blimey - what happened ?
