Dream Theater are awesome!! This dvd is a must for any DT fan - if you hav'nt got it - get it now!! (I bought it to replace the vhs version). I have been a fan since they brought out 'Images and Words' cd in 1992 - and if you like prog rock you'll love Dream Theater. I have seen them live a number of times including on their Metropolis 2000 tour. At the concert they played 'Scenes from a memory' from start to finish non-stop (over 75 minutes!!). Their live performances are always brilliant - and this one is no exception. Special edition dvd features: Dream Theater's final live performance of 'Scenes from a memory' from their concert at Roseland Ballroom New York on August 30th 2000. Full length audio commentary by the band. Over one hour of bonus live material, including the only live release of the 25 minute epic 'A change of seasons' - not included on the vhs version. Behind the scenes documentary. Metropolis 2000 world tour gallery. Vocals: James Labrie. Bass guitar: John Myung. Guitar, vocals: John Petrucci. Drums, percussion and vocals: Mike Portnoy. Keyboards: Jordan Rudess. PLAY IT LOUD!! ENJOY!!Read full review
Not to my taste! Competant bunch of lads, loads of skill just not musical to my ears
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
Great DVD from DT - in my opinion this is the best they have done - concept, production, playing and the artwork. A must watch for fans of the band and the progressive rock/metal/fusion genre.
A fantastic DVD depicting the whole album storyline perfectly while at the same time showing the might Dream Theater playing to perfection! This DVD adds a whole new edge to the CD as not only do you see Dream theater performing this live masterpiece. You also get snap shots, and short video clips showing ''The face in the mirror, getting clearer''. Some good bonus stuff also, 5 additional live songs that are from different albums including Erotomania, The Silent Man ect: You can also have commentry on where dream theater speak in the background about the DVD as it plays. Sadly ''no subtitles!'' If any music DVD needed subtitles its this one, catching those important vocal lines for the story is vital.... But oh well! It may just be my player??? Good buy anyhow and would recommend to any DT fanRead full review
