This is Italy's answer to The Deer Hunter/Apollolype Now. I watch this on video many years again and i was so pleased when i could buy it on DVD.The last Hunter is just as good in it's own right as any of the above. It was Made in 1980 and stands up well in the test of time. The late David Warbeck plays army captain Henry Morris and does a great job. In the role he is weary and fedup of the war but continues because it's what he does best.Director Antonio Margheritis film will be loved by most but hated by the few. You must understand that it is a anti-war film and the message is quite clear. No Hollywood glamour or emotional tearjerker moments. You will be glued the the screen especially the scene where a soldier is forced by an unhinged Major to run into the enemy territory to retrieve a cocoanut from the jungle for the Major. Does he make it back but the film to find out. You must buy the Vipco's edition for the best quality. I was fooled by someone who advertised a Vipco's original but when it arrived it was a poor quality make from a 23rd rate reproduction company. I am now a very happy bunny and this is one film i will not be selling on e-bay i will be watching it for many years to come.Read full review
