The evil Khan, marooned on a planet, takes over a space ship and pursues his arch enemy, Captain Kirk and the Enterprise.Director Nicholas Meyer's concept for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan was to make it "Captain Horatio Hornblower in space". Equipped with a budget a fraction the size of that accorded the first movie, and bolstered by James Horner's swashbuckling score, Meyer accordingly delivered the most exciting of all the Trek big-screen outings, referencing both CS Forester's Hornblower and classic submarine dramas, as well as adding some literary flourishes and ground-breaking CGI work for good measure (the Genesis device sequence is a computer-animation landmark).

The needs of the many out way...the needs of the few...
or the one... Star Trek II - The Wrath Of Khan In the original series epsiode 'Space Seed' We saw KHAN. After the kirk banished him to a barren planet, Khan seeks revenge and is very commited. He steals the USS RELIANT and damages the Enterprise. After requesting data for the project genisis, kirk manages to fight back. And with Khan out down he sets the device genisis torpedo to explode. with no luck for the enterprise to escape. spock commits his life to save them. An all round brilliant and superb film that is best known as the final frontier.

Star Trek 2 The Wrath Of Khan director's edition
The director’s edition of ‘Star Trek 2 The Wrath Of Khan’ (The Best Star Trek Film Ever Made) Has a whole new dimension giving the characters more depth with a whole lot of new and alternative scenes added to what is essentially a fantastic movie already but even more so with this extended version. The new and alternative scenes are as follows. 1.’ANTIQUES’ McCoy’s line ‘No, More Antiques For Your Collection’ 9:28 into the film was not in the original theatrical version of this film. This scene is elongated with restored footage including this line and McCoy’s line about 400 year old lenses as well as the next 2 lines have been restored here. Also in the original cut Dr McCoy’ says he “ Recommends Retnox” but instead he “Administers It” in this version. The whole scene lasts for approximately 30 seconds is from 9:28 to 10:55 2. ‘ENGINE ROOM INSPECTION’ There is an exchange between Kirk and Cadet Preston played by Ike Eisenmann 27.28 into the film, which was originally deleted from the original theatrical version and has been restored for the director’s edition and also restored here is three other lines establishing that Cadet Peter Preston is Scotty Nephew. The whole scene lasts approximately 45 seconds from 27:28 to 28:12 3. ‘CONTACTING REGULA 1’ There is an additional shot added when Chekov communicates Regular 1 at 32:52 into the film and ends again at 33:01 he states that “the order comes from Starfleet command” and the response from Dr Carol Marcus is “Genesis is a civilian project under my control” The whole scene only lasts for just under 10 seconds 4. ‘ALONE ON REGULA’ There is a long dolly shot starting at 36.26 into the film which is a different take of the original scene then the one used in the theatrical version. The alternative take allowed 3 extra lines to be added to the end of the scene. The whole scene is over 30 seconds long from 38:26 to 37:00 5. ‘GENESIS’ The conversation about Genesis between Dr McCoy and Spock at 44:45 is elongated here to include Spock’s Line “ I do not dispute…” and the responses by Dr McCoy and Kirk have been added here. The whole scene is approximately 45 seconds long from 44:45 to 45:29 6. PRESTONS DEATH’ Scotty’s Plaintive Question and Kirks response has been restored for the directors cut the scene starts at 56:10 the sequence has been slightly re edited notable Peter’s last line “Aye” with this restoration and that of the earlier scene establishing that peter is Scotty’s Nephew shows better motivation for Scotty’s grief. The remainder of the sickbay scene has also been restored for the director’s edition ending with Kirk’s line “We’re alive only because I knew something about these ships that he didn’t” The whole scene is approximately 2 Minuets from 56:10 to 58.00 7.JEFFRIES TUBE a short scene has been added here at 1:17:48 where Kirk tells Spoke that David Marcus is his Son, where Spock Replies with his famous line “Fascinating” it is also the last scene with Leonard Nimoy in principle photography. The whole scene only lasts for approximately 12 seconds from1: 17:48 to 1:18:00 8.BACK ON THE BRIDGE Saavik’s question “Admiral what happens if Reliant fails to follow us into the nebula?” beginning at 1:20:55 and Spock’s subsequent answer is the last scene restored for the directors addition. The whole scene lasts for approximately 12 seconds from 1:20:55 to 1:21:10Read full review
