The Cardigans have always given value for money in every way. People have described them as 'bubblegum pop' and 'middle of the road', but if you can move passed the bigots then you will discover a whole new world of music. FIRST BAND ON THE MOON again demonstrates just how good this band really are. Track that most would have heard, Lovefoot' only enhances Nina's voice. If you haven't any Cardigans in your collection, then you are sorely missing out. You won't go far wrong buying FIRST BAND ON THE MOON to add to your collection. If I rated this as 5 star I would be doing the band an injustice. Long may Nina's voice reign. Also Albums of interest are GRAN TURISMO and LIFE.
I just took a notion to buy this album, I knew of The Cardigans and thought I'd try them out. I LOVE THIS ALBUM! It's unashamedly pop, with brilliant hooks and lyrics to match. If you like Garbage or The Cranberries or even Alanis Morrisette you should like these guys. Whether or not it is their best, I don't know, but if you, like me, want to see what they are all about BUY THIS CD...you'll be humming along to it incessantly!!
Very under-rated album from a group who lost their way a bit after this...not as fresh as 'Life' but not as over-produced as 'Gran-Turismo', this is fantastic, intelligent (& pretty dark) pop.
