I had previously read other reviews about a couple of Van Morrison albums quoting an annoying aspect, wherebye his protege, Brian Kennedy ghosts VM's previous lines in a whining tone!. WELL let me say that BK,s contribution on this album is 1. hardly perceptible, AND 2. is entirely in keeping with the "masters" usage of his talents on other album tracks. It certainly isn't in the top 10 of VM's 38 or so albums but it's not in the bottom 10 either. Track 4 " You don't know me" is a favourite of mine on this album previously encountered by Eva Cassidy on her album 'The Other Side" If you only have a handful of VM's incredible talent this should not be an early purchase, but added later. Just for the say so, the album I will take with me to the grave is "a Night in San Francisco". It followed the fabulous ' Too Long in Exile" and is without doubt the most uplifting album, live OR studio ever produced. Oh to have been at that gig. God bless Ivan George Morrison.Read full review
