Although Eddie has been around for a while he seems to be gaining in popularity recently due to clips posted on youtube. For me - this was my first experience of Mr Izzard on a full length DVD and I must say - I am impressed. Get past the initial "home video" tour of San Fran and you get sharp and intelligent wit from start to finish. No basic humour can be found here - fans of Chuuby Brown etc will be dissapointed. The show keeps a steady momentum with lots of back references so do not be tempted to scene select. All in all a great DVD and for fans of british stand up - A MUST.
Eddie Izzard live at Alcatraz at his genuis descriptive best. Rapidly switching from one topic to another and back again with consummate ease. Had this show previously on VHS and getting it on DVD was an absolute must! Anybody who has never watched Eddie Izzard should definitely try this one...his best show by far!
Eddie Izzard as always perfoms another very funny stand up. I rate 'Dress to Kill' as one of his better performances that compares very favourably with the classic, in my opinion, 'Circles'.
The beginning on the trams was bizarre and didn't generate any laughs here but the rest was really good. Talented fellow is Eddie! It's the only dvd I've bought of his so can't compare but I am a demanding comedy customer, don't laugh that easily. Guess it depends on humour.
