    Lovely film

    This amazing story should be read by everyone. The author, Steinbeck, used only 130 pages to relay such a brilliant piece of work....truly genius, and the film closely follows the thread of the book. Brilliantly directed and thoroughly watchable. Just one thing, as usual with most films these days, the sound recording levels leave something to be desired.

    Excellent interpretation of Steinbeck's great novella

    John Malkovich is excellent as Lennie, though I prefer Lon Chaney from the 1939 movie just a bit more. Gary Sinise gives a solid performance as George, equal to Burgess Meredith in the 1939 version. Lennie is a child in a man's body and has immense strength. I think I can put in a spoiler as the story is so widely known. You know what's going to happen at the end, and I get from it that George can't have much longer to go either.
