A story told in clear, factual terms of the life of a brilliant actress, singer and dancer. The beautiful Dorothy Dandridge said that she could have conquered the world - if only her skin had been white. It is a biographical account that nobody should miss. At times it is uncomfortable, especially for someone born caucasian like me, to see how appallingly treated and abused this amazing woman was. She was troubled, true - but her main troubles came about through her poor choice in men and through the ever-present racial prejudice that, retrospectively, is utterly shameful. It is a TV movie and made down to a budget, but the superb Halle Berry is perfect in the role and as far as I can see, the film is faithful to the facts (unlike, say, the Glenn Miller Story which though a nice film is basically a fairy story, with little relation to the real life events supposedly depicted). Highly, highly recommended.Read full review

Loved this film. Even though a little slow in the middle. Halley Berry looks great and I never knew the character and Otto were a thing. Go Otto.
