One of Woody Allen's greatest accomplishments: food for thought as well as a good laugh. The characters include a pillar of the community (Martin Landau) whose bitter mistress threatens to expose his secret sex life and his financial shenanigans and an idealistic but hard-up film-maker (Allen) reduced to making a documentary about a TV producer for whom he has nothing but contempt. A gem!
Don't be expecting an action packed roller coaster. Rather, expect to be delighted by excellent characterisation, particularly Woody Allen when cringing over the cheesiness of Alan Alda's character. Martin Landau is also a joy as the worried Judah.
