    The superb TV series from back when the BBC produced material worth watching. Presented in a nice box set containing 6 discs, it's centred around the royal family & other significant historical figures from pre Roman times to the millennium. Essential viewing for anyone studying/interested in UK history.

    An eccentric host for an eccentric country.

    Simon Schama could read out the phone book and I'd avidly watch. Quirky and unable to stand still, he is as entertaining as he is inciteful. As engaging as he is intellectual. Practically nothing on Richard III, but that minor gripe aside, I'll be watching this over and over again.
