Well, watched this one on an afternoon on sky, I'm a big film fan, and it took me by surprise, there are so many war films out there, but this one is different, Nolte, Havers at they're very best, well worth it, I searched and bought the the film. True courage displayed, human abilities under fire,if like me you won't be disapointed, don't let this one go by without watching it. Joe

Nick Nolte as the blond, blue eyed king of a tribe of Borneans. Nigel Havers as a colonial sort out to teach the savages about civilisation and warfare. This film highlights the cruelties perpetrated by the Japanese officers and soldiers. It didn't really work for me on the whole but it did have some surprisingly tender moments from Nick Nolte and a change of heart from Nigel Havers in the end. Some of the scenery and shots of the long houses were interesting. I rate it a 5 out of 10.
myself the wife and my best mate loved the film. Nolte as good as always. a good story and a really enjoyable film Doug
